About Us
St. Teresa Acupuncture Wellness Clinic is a nonprofit acupuncture clinic organized for the purpose of providing low cost Traditional Chinese Medicine to the public that is safe, natural, effective, and affordable.
St. Teresa was founded as a grassroots response to the rising costs of health care, the unstable economy that undermines so many people's livelihood, and the lack of coverage for acupuncture in health care plans. At present, Medicare and Medicaid do not cover acupuncture and herbal treatment. Some insurance plans provide coverage for acupuncture but on a limited basis and the coverage does not apply to herbal treatment (a very important component of Chinese medicine). Acupuncture and herbal treatment is still an out-of-pocket expense for the majority of people. With the growing number of Americans now relying more on Traditional Chinese Medicine as primary or complementary health care, it is no longer an optional health service but a necessity and our current economic challenges are not filling this need.
We are nonprofit, nondenominational, and nonpolitical. Our vision of St. Teresa Acupuncture Wellness Clinic was conceived to make Traditional Chinese Medicine an accessible and affordable health care service for all people.
Our Mission:
- Make available to the public an alternative medicine that is safe, natural, and effective.
- Provide quality Chinese medicine treatment at low cost for all people.
- Promote the public's awareness about the benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine and its role in mainstream medicine through outreach education and services.
